The history of Kangan Batman Institute of Tafe stems back to 1925. It provides apprenticeship training in the polymer, aerospace, transport and automotive fields in Victoria. It also offers internship centres for hospitality, aviation, automotives and certain branches of engineering in addition to sport-related subjects and health studies. The institute operates out of 7 campuses at Melbourne. The primary premises are at the Broadmeadows branch and the other campuses are at Moreland, Coburg, Richmond and Essendon.
