This course aims to develop hospitality management/supervisory skills in addition to Asian cookery skills. It enables students to acquire, develop and practice the knowledge and skills required at middle-level management within a hospitality operation. On completion of the program combined with appropriate experience will equip students for employment as a cook or supervisor in hospitality organisations such as hotels, restaurants, resorts and catering organisations.

Students should have completed year 11, 12, or equivalent, by providing school reports and/or academic records, or completed a qualification from the Australian Qualification Framework at Certificate IV level or higher in a course that was conducted in Australia, or must have a CoE ina a course that leads to a qualification from the Australian Qualification Framework at Certificate IV level or higher, and that they will complete before their main course. Students must be 18 years of age before commencement of AIFE program.
